How Your Mind Plan is Worked Out

Your Mind Plan consists of a library of actions that can help to maintain and improve people’s mental health and wellbeing. These actions were identified via a range of evidence-seeking activities, and were then scored by members of our expert advisory group and our clinical advisers.

Mental health experts have rated all our actions for their effectiveness as self-help approaches to improve sleep, mood, anxiety and stress. Their scores were then averaged to provide a single score that reflects a range of expert opinion.

This allows us to suggest the actions most likely to help with the issues you have rated as being most important to you. To ensure the quiz generates reasonably varied plans, the actions are also grouped into activity themes.

Since we do not know much about what you are already doing, Your Mind Plan allows you to change any of the suggested actions to fit your lifestyle. Some will be easier, some will be more challenging and some will just be different. By swapping actions, you can make it easier to fit the ideas from your plan into your life.

What should I do if I’m worried about my mental health?

It’s important to point out that we’ve tried to make the quiz quick and easy to do so, although we’ve based the recommended actions on experts advice, it is not a proper scientific or medical test, and it will not tell you if you are mentally healthy or not.

The quiz is designed to give you some basic information that will help you to look at your lifestyle and incorporate some suggestions if you want to.
